From those that brought you Echo Generation back in 2021, comes the next big fantasy epic – Ravenlok!
Telling the story of Ravenlok – a young girl sent to the kingdom of Dunia, in an attempt to save it from evil – this colourful action adventure title releases today on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC, arriving day-one on Xbox Game Pass. As a fitting conclusion to Cococucumber’s Voxel Triology, Ravenlok certainly looks the part, with some incredibly colourful cartoon visuals, almost reminding one of the animation Coraline.
Our young protagonist will be equipped with the standard fare for all heroes sent to battle an evil queen – a sword and shield! Yes, much like Link, Ravenlok will be slicing and dicing her magical foes in real-time combat, requiring sharp reflexes from the player in order to fight their way through spooky mushrooms and otherworldly forests. Add into the mix a number of magical abilities unlocked through the course of the game, as well as other offensive weapons such as bombs, and what you have here is a cutesy, but formidable, experience.
The development team have cited the likes of JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis and Studio Ghibli as inspirations behind the story told in Ravenlok, so expect a heavy fantasy aspect, as well as the weird and wonderful, throughout the story being told.
