We were promised enhancements to the already brilliant F1 2021 post launch, and EA and Codemasters are keeping true to their word, today throwing out a free update for the game which adds in the home of the Portuguese Grand Prix, as well as a new safety car and further enhancements.
Available to day for all players of F1 2021 to download and enjoy is the addition of Portimao as a race circuit. The home of the Portuguese GP, this is the first of three new circuit additions that are due to hit the game, with the Jeddah street circuit (November) and Imola (October) – yep, the scene of Max and Lewis’ latest coming together – following shortly.
Further to this though comes the inclusion of the new Aston Martin safety car as well, complementing the Mercedes AMG GT R, to replicate the switch-up that takes place in the real-world. And just to round things out, players will also see updates to the vehicle performances for good measure.
“We’re thrilled to finally release our first free circuit and update our players on what’s to come in the months ahead,” said Paul Jeal, F1 Senior Franchise Director at Codemasters. “Our players have let us know how excited they are to experience the new 2021 season circuits, and Jeddah will be a highlight releasing a few weeks before it makes its F1 debut in December.”
But that’s not all and Xbox and PlayStation players can also try F1 2021 for free with a trial available now to download via the respective digital stores. This allows players the chance to sample the opening of Braking Point alongside a Grand Prix at Monza and the opening weekend for My Team.

If you still haven’t picked up the game, the Xbox Store, PlayStation Store and PC offerings will sort you out.
