Fly and shoot with AngerForce: Reloaded on Xbox One

If you’re after a vertically scrolling shoot ’em up, then your choices are plentiful. With a wide range of games ready to pick your pocket and see you blasting skywards in the hope you can obtain high-scores and progress, the humble SHMUP continues to be hugely appealing. Now though there’s another game to add to the genre’s list as AngerForce: Reloaded hits Xbox One.

Coming from the publishing team at E-Home Entertainment, AngerForce: Reloaded aims to deliver yet another SHMUP experience to Xbox One, going up against the likes of the brilliant Sky Force Reloaded and the not-so-brilliant Mars: Chaos Menace in the shooting stakes.

Delivered to Xbox One gamers via the Xbox Games Store for just £7.99, AngerForce: Reloaded looks to be a very interesting proposition indeed, with a fun comic-art style pushing along some fast-paced 1990’s gaming action. With 7 stages and more than 10 bosses ready for taking down, success in AngerForce will no doubt boil down to how well you get a handle on the 4 characters within, and the special abilities and powerful bombs that they deal with.

Throw on a roguelike ability system that drops randomness into play, a number of soundtracks to enjoy and a bit of a story too (yeah, a story, in a SHMUP!), and all things AngerForce: Reloaded point to the positive. We’ll be able to tell you more once our full review of the game on Xbox One goes live, but in the meantime if you wish to give a new SHMUP a little punt, then AngerForce: Reloaded is ready for action.

The question is… are you?
