Are you ready for The Good Life? Come Summer 2021 that’s exactly what you’ll be taking in on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Having recently run the Kickstarter route, the team at White Owls Inc have now combined with the publishing power of The Irregular Corporation in order to see The Good Life become reality. Due to release in the summer of 2021, launching on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC, and co-developed by SWERY (Deadly Premonition fame), in The Good Life, players take on the role of New-York based photographer Naomi when life’s events lead her to the quaint, rural English town of Rainy Woods.
On the surface, it seems as if all of the villagers are living the good life in The Good Life, but as Naomi begins to pay off her debts with photography and odd part-time jobs, she – and you – find that not everything is as it seems in the self-proclaimed ‘happiest town in the world’. That could well be something to do with the shapeshifting residents – but then, they are only the beginning of the mystery that Naomi must unravel.
In The Good Life, you will need to utilise your detective skills and master the art of investigative photojournalism in order to capture the secrets of Rainy Woods. Keeping your wits about you will be at the fore of your thoughts, as you take on quirky-but-satisfying part-time jobs to make ends meet, but be careful not to overdo it – you’ll catch a cold if you don’t practice self-care. Save money and live off the land by growing your own garden, make friends (and possibly enemies) and begin to live the good life in Rainy Woods – especially after you acquire your very own trusty sheep to ride around town. (Yes, really.)
After blowing the roof off the Kickstarter project, smashing through its goals after its initial reveal, SWERY and White Owl’s unforgettable narrative is now set to take fans on a unique and surprise-filled journey. We can’t wait to see The Good Life launch on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in the summer of 2021.
