Every now and then something a little bit different pops up on the Xbox Store, enticing Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players in by the madness it promises. Today, that different is Fuga: Melodies of Steel.
Coming from CyberConnect2, Fuga: Melodies of Steel is the company’s first ever self published title, yet having previously worked on the likes of the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm and Dragon Ball Z series’ – notably, Kakarot – it seems they know a thing or two about videogames.
Fuga: Melodies of Steel hits Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in typical RPG fashion, but from there it all goes a bit south. You see, this RPG sees you placing children in the firing line as they utilise a variety of tactics, skills and abilities – and giant tanks – to head off the enemy and take the fight to all.
It’s these kids who will live inside the tank, and throughout Fuga: Melodies of Steel you’ll need to keep an eye on their emotional states and affinities with each other. Managing them is most definitely a bit key to the success you’ll look to find.
With various opportunities to take, decisions to enjoy and paths to consider, if you’re an RPG fan then there’s a pretty decent chance that Fuga: Melodies of Steel will be able to provide what you are looking for. There are however a couple of ways to get involved in this adventure. The Standard version of Fuga: Melodies of Steel will set you back £33.49 and provides full access to the game, but the Digital Deluxe Edition for £49.99 will build on things by further adding an 80 page digital art book, a 15 tracks soundtrack and in-game bonuses in the form of swimwear costumes, additional items and a Dummy Soul for use in your fight.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel is an RPG where you place children, each with their own unique characteristics and skills, at different gun turrets in a tank to fight against the enemy.
