Give back to the Planet in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack on Xbox One

A quick and crude calculation on all The Sims 4 add-ons – for those without EA Access and haven’t bought any DLC whilst it has been on offer – suggests that there is over £500 worth of content. And the folks at Maxis and EA aren’t quite finished with your money yet, as today sees another £34.99 expansion pack added to the Xbox Store – that of the Eco Lifestyle Pack.

The Eco Lifestyle pack that releases on Xbox One today expands on the ideas featured in the Island Living and Tiny Living expansions that granted players the tools and methods to live ‘off the grid’ and contribute to the conservation effort. Doubling down on those efforts, the Eco Lifestyle DLC allows players to live a more sustainable life by featuring new items that can be used to generate their own electricity and collect water.

Extremists can take it even further by rummaging through dumpsters. One man’s trash and all that. Sometimes these garbage excursions can throw up some unique components that can then be used to create new items that can then be sold online.

Being a more expensive expansion, Eco Lifestyle continues the trend as in previous DLCs by introducing a brand new area, this time called Evergreen Harbor. It offers a much more interactive neighbourhood than previous areas by introducing Action Plans that can be voted upon by other residents. Over time the area will change depending on how proactive you are living that Eco Lifestyle. Engage in Action Plans and reduce your carbon footprint and watch the town thrive; fail to do so and the town will decline with rubbish on the streets and the air quality decrease.

Of course, there are still the new décor items to be found, and in keeping with the theme many of these are refurbished or repurposed. You and your Sim can even get in on the upcycle action!

The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack on Xbox One is available to download now priced at £34.99. Check out our review of the base game here – which is still required to play the expansions – and let us know in the comments if you are still playing The Sims 4!
