Train Sim World 2 fanatics will no doubt have run the lines of the Isle of Wight many times over, thanks to Dovetail Games giving the opportunity to take in the trip between Ryde and Shanklin. Now though they are building on that, as we get to do so in a much more modern way.

Train Sim World 2: Island Line 2022: BR Class 484 is the latest expansion for Dovetail’s brilliant Train Sim World 2; a game which brings forth as much detail as you could ever imagine. It’s a game that is a railway fanatic’s dream, with lines running the length and breadth of the country, expanding to a variety of places around the globe.

Today though comes the chance to head back to the Isle of Wight, but thankfully the previous Isle of Wight expansion is not required in order to play this. See, the Train Sim World® 2: Island Line 2022: BR Class 484 is a whole new take on what came previously, focusing on the new rolling stock that entered service in 2021. It’s the 484 which is front and centre, and it’s the 484 you’ll be travelling in throughout this piece.

Riding to Ryde and shuttling down to Shanklin, should you have the base game of Train Sim World 2 to hand, then picking up the Train Sim World® 2: Island Line 2022: BR Class 484 for £14.99 seems like a decent plan. Do so and you’ll find that the most modern rolling stock to hit the island is in place, with all the detail and accuracy that you’d expect of a game from Dovetail.

You’ll find the new Train Sim World® 2: Island Line 2022: BR Class 484 available from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Expect to see it on PlayStation too.

DLC Description:

The Isle of Wight is unique for operating otherwise life-expired London Underground stock. The latest was until recently the Class 483, formed from old 1938 Stock. Being over 80 years old though, the 483s were in dire need of a replacement. An order for 5 Class 484s was placed. Being sub-surface trains, this saw the line overhauled to accommodate the new, taller fleet. The Class 484 entered service in November 2021. These 2-car EMUs retain their Underground soul, but are also kitted out with modern cabs, revised interiors, digital destination displays, and new headlights. In Train Sim World 2, take control of this modern-classic along an upgraded Isle of Wight. Ride to Ryde and Shuttle to Shanklin with the Class 484!
