It would be fair to say that Night City in Cyberpunk 2077 is already pretty lawless. But it isn’t a patch on Dogtown, the new location in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.
And that’s exactly where you are heading, on a crash course right into the middle of a warzone to rescue the President of the New United States of America. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is out now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
A spy-thriller with added cyberware
Of course, getting the President to safety is only the start of this latest adventure. Taking place during the events of the main game, Phantom Liberty will have you joining up with sleeper agents to help them track down one of their own.
This expansion is bolstered by the fact that one of them just happens to be played by none other than Idris Elba – who has incidentally lent his voice to one of the newly added radio stations as well.
What then unfolds is a tense affair. When that be a tense gunfight, a tense confrontation with an adversary, or a tense conversation with any of the newly added characters, it is tense.
Dogtown has gone to the dogs
It all takes place in Dogtown, a new city-within-a-city for Cyberpunk 2077. It might not be the biggest new area ever committed to DLC, but it packs a lot in.
What was once a proposed playground for the rich has all but been left behind by the rest of Night City: walls erected, buildings collapsing, even the police have left it to its own lawless devices.
But that just means you can have all the fun in world in there. Visit new ripperdocs for some new cyberware. Take part in a wide variety of new side-quests. Claim new weapons as they are airdropped in. Attempt to take over the city one headshot at a time. There’s tons to do here.
Phantom Liberty is available now
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is out now priced at £24.99 on the Xbox Store. Grab it now and you’ll get access to a new car, the Quadra Vigilante.
And if you have yet to pick up the base Cyberpunk 2077, a new bundle combining both has been added to the store priced at £64.99. Whatever you choose to go for, let us know in the comments below.
You won’t be able to play Phantom Liberty on Xbox One though. This is new-gen only. Is that a problem? Let us know.
