We very much enjoyed playing through the original Hidden Through Time, taking in the Where’s Wally styled hidden object gameplay. It certainly means there’s some serious excitement for the sequel – Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic.

Confirmed for release on PC, console and mobile later in 2023, Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic will come from the development team at Rogueside, as they look to take what was great about the 2020 original game, and build it out with more myths and magic.

Expect to see this one hitting pretty much all platforms later in the year, complete with a host of new features that have been requested via the community. That means there will be more ideas on the table, new concepts along with the same great simplicity that worked first time around. But there will also be a bigger, deeper, more expansive challenge found within.

The premise of Hidden Through Time 2: Myths & Magic will focus on the colourful, hand-drawn graphics, ever changing and detailed settings as it challenges players to find and collect hidden objects whilst taking the player on a journey of discovery through the ages. The story boarded, highly detailed animated screens help features and immersive gameplay pulls gamers into what is an intuitive, leisurely and moreish experience that is fun to come back to time and time again!

Hidden Through Time 2: Myth & Magic’s transformation/upgrade will present improved visuals and sound and the introduction of engaging features for the player to manipulate, such as the added customization options, increased intractability and improved ambience, all of which will make the levels feel more alive and vibrant as the player immerses in their own world with the tools presented. Editors for both structures and characters will also be present, enabling the chance for players to build their perfect world in the smallest of details.

“The idea for Hidden Through Time originated from those “Where’s Waldo” books everyone had back when they were young. The key difference between us and competitors is the addition of a map editor, enabling the community to create and share their own maps, as well as play other’s creations. One of the big focuses for the sequel is customisation. ”, Jacobein Van den Bergh – Marketing Manager.

If it follows the same lines of the original game, we’ll be more than happy. It’s a game that we hit with a 4/5 review, speaking highly of the relaxing hidden object experience, the colourful visuals and the use created maps. If only those maps were more intuitive… If you haven’t yet played it, we’d urge you to head to the Xbox Store and grab a download

We’ll keep you looped with a full release date when we can.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
