Highway Police Simulator is coming to Xbox, PlayStation and PC

If you’re a stickler for law and order and love a thin blue line, you’ll no doubt have spent time with a number of police themed games over the years. But come this September you’ll get the chance to head off on patrol again, with Highway Police Simulator on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.

From Aerosoft and Z-Software, Highway Police Simulator will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC in September 2024. And yep, we’re missing out Xbox One and PS4 for a reason, as the game won’t be playable on those consoles.

Going up against the likes of Autobahn Police Simulator 3, Police Simulator: Patrol Officers and – to a (much) lesser extent – Fashion Police Squad, Highway Police Simulator will see you navigating a single player open-world, either on foot or behind the wheel of a patrol car.

Join the force in Highway Police Simulator

Your goal? Well, that’s obviously to maintain the law, keeping order in an expansive world inspired by authentic American highways and locales. It’s in here where you’ll be found completing story-focused missions and freeplay tasks that will put your policing skills to the test. Interrogate suspects, investigate crimes in progress in helicopters, and chase down speeding felons, all in the name of maintaining peace.

Set in a North American world, you’ll also be able to take calls from Police HQ, tackling tasks assigned by the bobbies at the station, and assisting with traffic laws. There will be story missions to advance the overarching narrative, impacted by a dynamic morality system based on officer behavior, all whilst you keep the citizens of Caminora safe by handling cases with care and mastering tactical driving, firearms and patrol helicopters.

Further, prepare to develop skills to tackle the unpredictable work of police officers enhanced by procedural events. Interrogate suspects, arrest citizens upon stopping their crimes, check documents to confirm details, and stay safe throughout each shift.

And you’ll be able to do so with either Casual or Simulation gameplay modes to adjust the freeplay, allowing for a fully immersive experience or a guided journey through the open world.

Key features

Highway Police Simulator will include:

  • Varied open-world environments, each with its own challenges and missions
  • A storyline with exciting cases, career progression, ranking system and more
  • Unique vehicles, including different police cars, helicopters and more
  • A wide array of missions with traffic stops, accidents, car chases and more
  • A morality system that challenges players to make difficult decisions with real consequences for the story and the environment

“Highway Police Simulator encapsulates the investigative, often stressful role of law enforcement in a detailed and realistic world,” said Dirk Ohler, Head of Product at Aerosoft. “We’re thrilled to announce the title and our partnership with the talented team at Z-Software, and we look forward to all our new recruits joining the force in September 2024!”

Take in a tease

We’ll keep you looped, but for now take in the teaser trailer for Highway Police Simulator. The game should launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC in September 2024.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
