Hit the ever changing racetrack as Split/Second FINALLY goes free on Xbox

2026's Best Games

You know what the start of a new month means don’t you? Yep, that’s right, new free games being given away via the Xbox Games With Gold scheme. Fancy getting hold or a brilliant arcade racer for nothing?

Well that’s exactly what you can do right now as Split/Second has been stripped of its usual price tag in order to be given away for nothing to all Xbox Live Gold members for the next couple of weeks. That means should you have a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription, then you’ve got until the 15th February 2018 in order to hit the purchase button and grab your free download.

But what is Split/Second? Well, it’s an arcade racer in which the track is constantly changing. Explosions and destruction are both pretty much par for the course as you attempt to race against other competitors in a battle to cross the line first. It really is high octane arcade racing and should you be looking for something to deliver a high fun factor, then this is it.

If you wish to know more about the free games being given away with the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for February 2018, make sure you hit up our in-depth article. Once you have, get over to the Microsoft Store and nab your download.

Game Description:

Split/Second is an intense arcade racing game set within the universe of a mega-budget, prime-time reality TV show. Contestants race to be the 1st across the finish line in a made-for-TV city built for destruction, with the ultimate goal of becoming the season champion. The city is rigged to blow and you’re in control of the action – bridges will fall, buildings will be reduced to clouds of dust and cars blown to pieces – devastating explosions will decimate your rivals and rip apart the track, creating new routes and challenging obstacles. Explosive stunts, demolition and balls-out racing thrills combine to create the ultimate high-octane racing experience! Buckle up…it’s about to get explosive out there!

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
