Inspired by The Guns of Navarone, new Paid and Free DLC take aim in Sniper Elite 5

sniper elite 5 landing force mission

We knew that Rebellion would push new content to Sniper Elite 5 on a regular basis. Whether they promised it or not, past history with the likes of Zombie Army 4: Dead War and Strange Brigade pretty much confirmed it. And that has certainly been the case as today we find free and paid DLC rolling out for the best sharpshooter in the business.

Available today for Sniper Elite 5 players to grab, download and enjoy are a few new content options. There’s the paid Landing Force Mission and Weapon Pack and new Suppressed Pistol which come about via the launch of the Season One content, but there’s also some free gifts for all too.

Sniper Elite 5 is available to purchase and play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, PS4, PS5 and PC, through both Steam and Windows. Should you have the base game to hand, you’ll now be able to expand on what it originally delivered as the Rebellion team behind it provide a host of new content.

It’s present in the Season One Pass for Sniper Elite 5, with this including the Landing Force mission, D.L. Carbine rifle and PPSH submachine gun weapons pack, as well as a free adversarial multiplayer map entitled Flooded Village. The new Landing Force Mission and Weapon Pack forms the first content drop for Season Pass One and is also available to purchase separately, priced up at £11.99.

Developed by Rebellion in collaboration with Flix Interactive, the brand-new Landing Force mission is inspired by the movie ‘The Guns of Navarone’. It is set on an island off the coast of Southern France, as the Nazis have installed a huge gun battery into the mountainside which is preventing the Allies from invading the South of France. Karl Fairburne – that’s us – is tasked with destroying these huge weapons under the cover of darkness before signalling the Allies that they are safe to begin Operation Dragoon. The island encourages the players to explore with a variety of different buildings, scenery, and landscapes as well as ancient ruins, forts, walls, and abandoned structures.

You’ll not just get that new mission in the pack though and also included is the D.L. Carbine rifle and PPSH submachine gun. The D.L. Carbine is one of the quietest weapons ever created making it the perfect addition to your Sniper Elite 5 arsenal as it can eliminate enemies at long range with minimal noise. One the flipside, the PPSH is a bombastic submachine gun that can fire off rounds at an incredible rate making it an ideal get out of jail card for when things go wrong.

The Landing Force Mission and Weapon Pack is available now as part of Season Pass One costing £29.99/$34.99/€34.99 or as a standalone purchase for £11.99/$14.99/€14.99. Expect three further content drops to arrive via that Season Pass One too.

Further to that, the P.1938 Suppressed Pistol is also available. This was previously only available as pre-order content, but is also now available to purchase priced at £3.29/$3.99/€3.99.

To round things off, the Flooded Village multiplayer map is playable now on all multiplayer modes, including No Cross, free of charge.

This is a new multiplayer map which draws inspiration from images of Normandy during the events of D-Day as the Nazi opened locks and breached flood defences in an effort to keep the Allied Forces at bay. Featuring great vantage points ideal for sniping as well as lowlands, flooded houses, a railway bridge and causeway, Flooded Village offers a unique challenge for team-based and solo multiplayer. It is available now in all multiplayer modes, including No Cross, via the latest title update.

You’ll obviously need the base game of Sniper Elite 5 to hand in order to enjoy any of this new content. Pick it up from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S if you haven’t yet done so. With it on Game Pass, there’s next to no reason to not be playing it. It’s on PS4, PS5 and PC too.
