In recent weeks we bounced our way through the forest in Fruit Adventure; a small indie game pushed out to the world by Joffre Macedo Neto. And now Neto is back, with The Super Penguboy on Xbox and PC.
We’ll admit to not being wowed by Fruit Adventure. But for a Gamerscore giver that was over in some thirty minutes, we happily lapped it up. Perhaps the same will be the case with the release of The Super Penguboy.
Cheap and cheerful platforming
Available right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC, The Super Penguboy is a cheap and cheerful little platform adventure. When we say cheap, we mean it too, running at a mere £4.99 in asking price. As for the cheerful aspect, our upcoming review of The Super Penguboy on Xbox will detail things.
In The Super Penguboy you get to control – shock, horror – Super Penguboy. A little penguin guy who is somehow equipped with both a jetpack and a parachute, it’s up to you to help old Penguboy out. You see, he’s navigating his way through the Dark World, left to overcome traps, obstacles and more.
With the collection of both coins and stars at the fore of things, and multiple challenges to work out, this could well be another Gamerscore-centric affair.
Multiple purchasing options
We’re not sure if The Super Penguboy has enough about it to take up much more of your time than a single evening or two, but if you wish to give it a shot, grab a download of the game from the Xbox Store.
There’s a PC focused entry available too, playable across Win10. If anything, it’ll mean the Achievements and Gamerscore flow even more.
And if you didn’t ever pick up Fruit Adventure, Neto has seen fit to include The Super Penguboy with Fruit Adventure in one bundle titled The JM Neto Game Dev Games bundle. A £7.19 price tag makes things a teeny tiny bit cheaper. Every penny counts.
