We’ve long been of the opinion that anything capable of helping power us through gaming sessions should be both lauded and applauded. It’s the reason why we adore our gaming chairs from SecretLab and Noblechairs and it’s why we’ve found ourselves using gear like Nanoleaf’s 4D Screen Mirror + Lightstrip Kit or Nerdytec’s Couchmaster CYCON², with comfort at the fore.

So what about a beanbag? More to the point, what about GreatBeanBags’ Designer Velvet Hi-Back Gamer Bean Bag? Well yeah, we can be sold on that too.

It’s hard to sit here and discuss the intricacies of a bean bag. By their very nature, they are a bag full of beans. But that’s not to say that GreatBeanBags don’t have you covered with a host of options, with the Designer Velvet Hi-Back Gamer Bean Bag right up there in and amongst their finer products.

We’ve been sitting in the GreatBeanBags Designer Velvet Hi-Back Gamer Bean Bag – lime green colour in case you were wondering – for a little while now. And frankly, we’ve loved it. Not loved in the way of ‘Wow, I can’t wait to plonk my arse in that for the night‘, but more like ‘Well, this is all very nice, comfortable and swish‘. We can’t sit here and say that it has made us better at games either, but for providing a nice way of kicking back in the evening, slouched out as the games get played, it’s more than done the job.

As you may suspect from something of such a name, the GreatBeanBags Designer Velvet Hi-Back Gamer Bean Bag comes with a high, supportive back. This, when combined with the base, means that it is super simple for anyone to get into position, left to feel the plush upholstery as they continue to game. That’s not to say that the back is stupidly high and, honestly, it’s just a bean bag at the end of the day and so it really does depend on how you fling yourself into it, but it is to say that comfort is front and centre. Coming in at roughly 80cm in width, it should well sort various frames and body sizes too.

You may also spot the ‘velvet’ in that name. GreatBeanBags have ensured that this bag is made from a super soft, upholstery grade velvet fabric. Frankly, it’s super luxurious and feels absolutely cracking; excelling way above what we were expecting of it. It should also mean that the GreatBeanBags Designer Velvet Hi-Back Gamer Bean Bag will look good in any room too. Consider the range of colours, and that is even more true.

Does that velvet mean it’s going to be a ballache to clean? Well, we’ve been pretty careful with our GreatBeanBags Designer Velvet Hi-Back Gamer Bean Bag and haven’t yet felt any need to hit it with cleaning products, but GreatBeanBags do state that this should be good for ‘spot cleaning’. In other words, don’t expect to be unzipping this one and chucking it in a washing machine; that’s not possible. However it is also, as you may suspect, fully compliant with British furniture and furnishings fire safety regulations. It would be a huge shock if it wasn’t.

With a zippered bottom to ensure those beans stay put, there’s hardly a thing to complain about in regards the GreatBeanBags Designer Velvet Hi-Back Gamer Bean Bag. And whilst it is ‘just‘ a bean bag at the end of the day, it’s most certainly a stylish, super comfortable one that is a great fit for gaming sessions.

Perhaps the GreatBeanBags Designer Velvet Hi-Back Gamer Bean Bag shouldn’t be slammed straight onto your purchase list though. This version of GreatBeanBags’ bean bag is pretty expensive. Whilst you may be able to find it discounted, the RRP of the Velvet Hi-Back Gamer Bean Bag is £188.99. That’s big money for a bean bag; even one at the very top of the tree. We can see that price possibly putting many off. But then, if you have the cash to spare…

Huge thanks go out to GreatBeanBags for providing their Designer Velvet Hi-Back Gamer Bean Bag. Hit them up direct if you wish to purchase a Gamer Bean Bag for yourself. They’ve got a ton of options available, in a range of colours, sizes and prices. And there are discounts available too!
