Konami have today detailed the content which will be present in the upcoming ‘Cloaked in Silence’ update for Metal Gear Online. That can only be a good thing eh?

The new downloadable content campaign focuses on the squad-based multiplayer side of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and it’ll be bringing new maps, a new character and a fair bit of new content to the experience.

Arriving in March 2016, ‘Cloaked in Silent’ will include the following three maps:

  • Coral Complex: A dedicated Motherbase environment, allowing players to access tall towers and use storage containers and other internal areas as cover for tactical advantage. Coral Complex mixes open areas and a myriad of hiding opportunities.
  • Rust Palace: Set within Afghanistan, the Rust Palace is a large multi-level building. The skeletal nature of the decrepit ruin means that cover is scarce, while the internal areas are rich in dusty rooms and high-up sniping positions.
  • Azure Mountain: An outdoor plain under Africa’s baking sky. A small cluster of buildings offers scant cover, with only derelict walls and occasional scrubland surrounding the massive rock known locally as the Cradle of Spirits.

It’ll also see the debut of Quiet as a fully playable character. The legendary sniper can take out distant targets with excellent accuracy,  whilst Quiet’s fast movement speed allows for unique jumping abilities over high steps where a player would usually need a ladder. She can also temporarily cloak her visibility while sprinting to activate a boost in movement speed.

But that’s not all. The DLC will also add the Appeal Faction which triggers a unique character pose known as Appeal Action. Players can preset up to five different slots per character with additional Appeal Action packs are available for purchase in store.

The pricing is as follows and will see the updates appear on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and PC:

  • Expansion Pack: ‘Cloaked in Silence’ (3 Maps + Quiet) €3.99 SRP
  • Basic Appeal Pack €1.99 SRP
  • Battle Appeal Pack €1.99 SRP
  • Dance Appeal Pack €1.99 SRP
  • Hero Appeal Pack €1.99 SRP
