Should you be on the hunt for a new game, and Game Pass is your bag, you will find yourself more than sorted with the latest batch of new games to hit the service. There’s some misery, some mystery and some markets, in the three new Game Pass drops.Â
Available across Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass today are three new additions to the service. Two of those games are debuting Day One too, whilst the other is a contender for Game of the Year, rebooted and revamped.Â
Game Pass subscribers should be well aware of the changes that affect their subscription multiple times a month. The additions move in, the leavers roll out, but time and time again Game Pass continues to stay fresh. Today is probably the best day for a while too – at last since the big hitting Forza Motorsport and Starfield launches.Â
Three new games arrive in Game Pass
So what are we getting access to today? Well, you’ve got the misery of Dead Space, the mystery of a Frog Detective and the opportunity to go shopping with Mineko at the market.Â
Dead Space
Dead Space first launched on Xbox in the early months of 2023. A revamped, reworked version of the original space horror, it went down an absolute bomb. In fact, sitting here now, considering Game of the Year options, and Dead Space is right at the front of the list.
If you haven’t yet played, now would be the prime time as Dead Space launches onto Game Pass, via EA Play. In fact, even if you have played it before, we’d urge you to drop everything and get a download moving asap. If only so you can board the USG Ishimura at the earliest opportunity.Â
Want to know why? Well, our 4.5/5 review of Dead Space on Xbox Series X|S sums it up…Â
Dead Space is a remake done right. It builds on what the original game did well, delivering in terms of tension and environment, adding new layers as it goes. Should you be a fan of what the franchise did in the past, or are just looking to have your spine tingled, I would suggest you give Dead Space a go. And use headphones, yeah?
Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery
New to Xbox today (and Switch, PlayStation for that matter), Frog Detective is a delightful looking little mystery affair in which we get the chance to play as, well, a frog detective. Put together by the Worm Club team, this one focuses on clue gathering, suspect questioning and the need to nail down the secrets to a host of mysteries that play out.Â
It looks delightful, and with ‘The Entire Mystery’ showing up in the title, we’d suspect this is one that will keep you going for a good few hours.
We’ll let you know how it rolls in review (coming soon), but for now just head over to the Xbox Store and grab a download of Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery.Â
Mineko’s Night Market
What’s that? Another Day One Game Pass debutant? Ah yes, that’ll be Mineko’s Night Market.
A game that is ready to help you celebrate Japanese culture, in Mineko’s Night Market you’ll get to play as the titular Mineko. She’s a curious little girl who loves a bit of shopping; market stalls no doubt being her port of call.
What plays out promises to be heartwarming, as you get the chance to uncover secrets galore, all whilst helping your new village home drag itself up to former glories.
We’re quite excited for how Mineko’s Night Market plays on Xbox. And with it available today through Game Pass, there’s little reason to not give it a go. The Xbox Store will sort you out if you are as equally intrigued.Â
You’ll find each of the games above available from the Xbox Store today.
What’s next for Game Pass?
Don’t think that with just a few short days of October left, Game Pass is done for the month. In fact, the 31st is a big day for the service, with a host of games moving out, and a couple of our most anticipated titles for the year moving in. It’s then when we’ll welcome Headbangers: Rhythm Royale and Jusant to the table. We’ll say bye bye to Funfire Reborn, Kill It With Fire, Persona 5 Royal, Signalis and Solasta Crown of the Magister.Â
Today though it’s all about the three new games in Game Pass. Which will you be playing first? Surely you’ll be closing the curtains and switching off the lights for the horrors of Dead Space, no? Let us know in the comments.
