Having released the second instalment of the Monster Energy Supercross series earlier this year, Milestone and Feld Entertainment are ready to announce the next one. Get ready to show the world who’s the king of the track in the upcoming Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 3!
Monster Energy Supercross 3 will feature the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross season, with 100 riders from both the 450SX and 250SX classes, as well as 15 official stadiums and tracks. For the very first time in the series, it’ll also let you to choose between being a part of a sponsor team or an Official Supercross Team of the 2019 Championship in the Career mode; thus providing the chance to become a teammate of your favourite Supercross rider and put those skills of yours on show to the masses.
Furthermore, there’s the option to race in a co-op mode alongside three other friends, choosing different game modes to play in the replica of the legendary Factory Supercross Practice Tracks in California. It’s a huge free roaming area with nine amazing tracks, where most of the OEMs – original equipment manufacturers – that compete in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross actually test their bikes.
And once you’ve practiced, you’ll then be ready to challenge other players in the brand new Online Multiplayer mode, now boosted with dedicated servers for a lag-free gameplay experience. Additionally, there’s a Race Director mode to create online tournaments in, enabling you to decide players’ starting positions, assign penalties or choose which cameras to focus on. Whether it’s the Championship, Quick Race or Elimination type, you can choose their favourite game mode by browsing through Public and Private Lobbies to find a suitable match.
The Track Editor is also back and it’s better than ever, with new modules and new stadium items to customise tracks in a unique way. Thanks to brand new aesthetic customisation items, such as Touch Block, Finish Gates or Leader Pillars, you can now enhance the realism and immersion of your custom tracks.
As for the technical aspects, there will be improvements impacting both graphics and the overall gameplay experience. The rider and secondary character models have been completely re-made from scratch using photo scanning. The new model system allowed the inclusion of female rider models possible for the first time with its own animations and physics. Therefore you can select a female custom rider amongst the different models available to be the next Supercross Champion. Tracks are expected to feel more alive, thanks to revised particles of fireworks, flames, and dry/wet ground that are more detailed. On the gameplay side of proceedings, physics have been completely revised to be adapted to the new rider animations and a new in-air bike control system has been implemented to improve the bike handling during jumps.
