If you’re a fan of the undead and find yourself appreciating the odd brightly coloured flowers from time to time, then chances are the surprise sudden release of Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville in Founders Edition form may just be something you will want to be getting involved in!
Arriving today with a price tag of just £24.99, Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Founders Edition sees the countdown to the next instalment of the Plants vs Zombies series put into full force. With a purchase of the Founder’s Edition, players can find themselves welcomed into a six-week early-access period of the latest title in the series, in which each week will bring new content including new regions, game modes and more as we get closer to the standard release date of October 18th.
The Founder’s Edition version of the game is only available from now until September 30th and is only available in digital format. Those who decide to jump in early will find a number of special bonuses including Exclusive Founder’s rewards for the first four weeks if you log in each week as well as the lowered price of £24.99, on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, with the standard version set to arrive for £34.99 on October 18th.
There is also access to a dedicated Discord channel in which Founding Neighbours can share thoughts with the development team as well as find weekly News from Neighborville posts and a developer livestream.
Finally, and for many most importantly, any progress made within the founder’s period will of course transfer over to the full game at launch.
For those unaware of this rather non-advertised outing from Plants vs Zombies, Battle for Neighborville is the latest title to carry on from the previous Garden Warfare titles – Garden Warfare 2 is rather good – in the series with players now taking on both the roles of Plants or Zombies to battle the coniferous fight for Neighborville.
With over 20 fully customisable character classes in one joint social region, as well as three free-roam regions and numerous multiplayer modes, this is certainly a PVZ entry looking to take things to the next level.
What’s more is those who wish to jump in early and get on board with the fight between the plants and zombies will find their Founders Edition version upgraded to the Standard Edition for no extra cost when the full game rolls around on October 18th.

Having suddenly just seen this pop on the store, and waiting what seems like an enduring period if time for another Pvz shooter (with what felt like no warning since the beta sessions), I am so grateful you have covered this stating what it actually entails and what’s special about being a founder! This seems to be a new way of managing the game release from popcap, let’s hope by doing this it drums up as big a fan base as PvZ:GW/GW2 has achieved in its time.
