The mere mention of the word ‘chase’ in any video game, especially a vehicular-based one, immediately conjures up memories of the classic Chase HQ. It’s a game that we adored all those decades ago, and one that we hope has inspired the release of Pure Chase 80’s on Xbox.
Now available to purchase and download on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Pure Chase 80’s breaks out of Nintendo Switch territory to find a home on Xbox. And we’re more than up for its arrival.
Priced at £9.99, Pure Chase 80’s is billed as ‘one of the most exciting chase games’. Now, we won’t be able to fully confirm nor deny that statement until we get behind the wheel of this one – and stay tuned for a full review as soon as we do – but we’re pretty hopeful in what it can deliver.Â
See, this is a game that, as the title suggests, is about as pure as you are going to get in terms of a racer. Pure arcade, pure speed and pure adrenaline are all promised to players of Pure Chase 80’s as the 60fps visual whizz by and the retro vibes hit home. A game in which you’ll be racing across the globe, you should expect to bear witness to a ton of locales, from Egypt to the Alops, through the darkest caves and across the most neon-lit of cities; as long as you can race, you should be good.
When you include that Pure Chase 80’s delivers real-time weather effects, a day and night cycle and a fair old whack of vehicle destruction, then things get more interesting still. We think the procedurally generated scenarios should help wonders too.
