Push blocks, paint tiles – Sokolor is on Xbox

If you know how the Xbox Store works, and you’ve stumbled upon any number of games to come out of the QUByte Interactive publishing team in recent weeks, months and years, you should probably know what to expect from the release of Sokolor.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S (non-optimised for new-gen, but that’s no shock horror), is QUByte’s Sokolar. It’s priced very cheaply at just ÂŁ4.19 and plays as the most simple of puzzle games. At least that’s our guess from the screenshots.

A Sokoban block pusher at heart, Sokolor will have you working your way through a host of various stages and levels in hope of pushing blocks onto specific tiles. But to up the ante a little and to bring about a bit of confusion, you’ll need to ensure you paint the blocks you push first. Casually manovering them over painted tiles, your blocks will need to be a specific colour in order for full level completion.

There’s not much new here in Sokolor and in recent times we’ve found ourselves playing a host of these block pushers – from Sokocat – Combo to SokoBunny to the more recent game that very much fits these vibes in sCATch: The Painter Cat. That doesn’t mean we won’t find ourselves spending time with this one though – expect a review of how Sokolor plays on Xbox soon.

If you’re sold by what the game has to offer and fancy checking out what the development team at Gray Boss have put together before seeing QUByte push Sokolor to the masses, then head over to the Xbox Store and pick up a download of the game right now. You can play it on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Game Description:

Sokolor is a puzzle game with innovative mechanics. Push the colored cubes into their correct positions, but first you need to paint yourself the same color to be able to push them!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
