Race for the antidote with Size Matters

In Size Matters you play as a scientist who accidentally swallowed a chemical that is causing them to shrink smaller and smaller every second. It’s a race against time to create an antidote before you disappear completely. To do this you’ll have to move around the laboratory collecting all the ingredients and formulae you need.

You’ll get to operate a range of machines – the Chemical Processor, Reverter and Code Combiner, to manipulate the required ingredients into three components before combining them in the Antidote Producer.

As you shrink it will get increasingly difficult to manoeuvre around the lab; glassware gets more difficult to handle, reaching machines on the bench top now requires jumping off the chair. This essentially turns the game into a platformer, with some puzzle components.

To help you succeed in this (not so) mammoth task, you will be able to rearrange the lab so you’ll be able to reach the things you need when you are smaller. You can also tweak all kinds of settings, such as the height at which you start, how many double jumps you can do, or how long it takes for the Chemical Processor to complete its process.

There are six different laboratories to explore, each with their own unique set of challenges.

To get more of an idea about what the game is like, take a look at the trailer for the Xbox version, but think Grounded – with less nature and more science – and you may well be getting there.

Released on PC via Steam back in March 2021, it’s gained very positive reviews. If you fancy trying it out on a console, it’s out now and available on the Xbox Store to buy and download for ÂŁ8.39, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Stick around for our review.

Game Description:

In Size Matters you take on the role of a scientist who has unintentionally ingested a chemical which causes him to shrink every second! As you shrink, getting around the laboratory gets trickier, with the game essentially turning into a platformer as you figure out ways to climb up onto where the equipment and ingredients are located! Using the equipment, you need to manage to make an antidote in a limited time, before you shrink completely! Go through the formulas you find and follow them accurately! Operate equipment such as: Chemical Processor, The Reverter, Code Combiner, Antidote Producer and more! But beware, your time is very precious – you need to process ingredients using lab equipment all while searching for missing components or rearranging the lab so you’re able to reach stuff when you’re smaller!
