We’ve seen it in almost every rally title to grace our consoles in recent years, we’ve seen it gather an incredible reputation on the TV, and now we’re going to see it join the many disciplines that will be available to play in Project Cars 2. Today the guys behind Project Cars 2 have confirmed Rallycross will be coming to Project Cars 2.
Rallycross is one of the fastest circuit racing disciplines to be found in the world of motorsport, and with such a realistic feel brought to the first Project Cars, you can be sure that Project Cars 2 will be bringing the true vibe of the discipline to console. Of course, as I mentioned before it isn’t the first time we’ve seen Rallycross grace a game on our consoles, however with such a wide array of licensed cars and tracks coming to Project Cars 2 later this year, you can expect it to be one of the finest Rallycross experiences to date.
Rallycross is a fast, loud and violent motorsport with 600hp cars slamming pedal to the metal around dirt and asphalt tracks, whilst the drivers slam through 70-foot jumps. Project Cars 2 looks to merge the authentic physics with its unsurpassed visual fidelity and incredible driving mechanics to make for a truly life-like experience.
To help out with this of course, Slightly Mad Studios have signed real-world Honda Factory Global Rallycross racing stars Mitchell deJong, and Oliver Eriksson as consultants. Along with a technical partnership with their employers, fabled Rallycross team OMSE—19 X Games medals, winners of every Rallycross championship title in the US, and official suppliers of Supercar Lites Rallycross cars worldwide.
Those pleased to hear of their experience will also be happy to hear that Project Cars 2 will deliver both officially-licensed cars and tracks, completely scanned into the experience with such venues as US-based Dirtfish and Daytona, Norway’s very own Lånkebanen, and of course, the track where it all began half-a-century ago, Lydden Hill in the UK.
Those interested in Project Cars 2 will be able to jump into the experience later this year on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
