Cult of the Lamb popped up on PC and console in the latter half of 2022 to deliver a rather special gaming experience. Today we get the chance to rejoin that cult, as the Relics of the Old Faith update rolls out.

The first major update for Cult of the Lamb, Relics of the Old Faith sees Massive Monster and Devolver Digital expand their base game, adding in a host of new content for free.

Arriving in-game today, if you’re a Cult of the Lamb follower then you should expect to find Relics of the Old Faith building things out with a new post-game storyline which throws revamped crusades, enemies and bosses your way. You’ll need to sort them out with the help of Relics; usable items that bestow unique effects upon the Lamb, enhancing combat in a multitude of different ways.

From there comes the opportunity to conduct Sermons to unlock new Relics, keeping track of them in the Relic Book as you uncover mysterious new lore concerning ‘The Three Ducks’.

There’s more though and combat improvements also come in the form of Heavy Attacks, which enable the Lamb to embark on deeper and more challenging expeditions than ever before. In fact, you’ll need to make the most of this, utilising and combining all of your new skills to take on tougher enemies boasting beefier attacks!

But as we know, growing a cult isn’t just about defeating enemies and converting non-believers, so Relics of the Old Faith also heralds a host of new content to ensure a happy commune. Assign a Follower to do the meal prep for you in the Kitchen, cooking up to thirty meals for your hungry flock, and solve their sleeping problems with Shared Shelters that house up to three Followers.

And as your Cult continues to grow, you’ll need a nice new Crypt to store the mounting corpses, but keep things looking pretty with Farm Plot Signs that use the Lamb’s powers of suggestion to encourage Followers to organise their crops.

Need more? Relives of the Old Faith has it and followers will continue to evolve into new and unusual forms following the update, including badgers, penguins, racoons and more, whilst proud Cult Leaders can preserve their treasured memories forever with the new Photo Mode.

Should you have Cult of the Lamb in your digital library on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or PC, then you will find the Relics of the Old Faith update rolling out today. If not, pick it up from your nearest digital store – the Xbox Store is right here, with the game playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
