After the huge success of GTA Online, it was to be hugely expected that Rockstar would be rolling down the same route with Red Dead. No surprise then to see the announcement of Red Dead Online.
A new a new online connected experience, Red Dead Online will be set against the backdrop of Red Dead Redemption 2’s enormous open world, evolving the classic multiplayer experience found in the original Red Dead Redemption and blending the narrative together with competitive and cooperative gameplay in fun new ways.
Red Dead Online will utilise the stunning gameplay of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 as a foundation, before getting ready to be fully explored either by the solo player or a group of like-minded friends. Featuring constant updates and adjustments, Red Dead Online will grow and evolve for all players.
Red Dead Online is planned for launch in November 2018, initially as a public beta. Rockstar have pretty much admitted that there will be some kind of turbulence at launch – what with the scale of the project – but they look forward to working with the community to share ideas, and help fix teething problems to develop Red Dead Online into something innovative.
But how will you get access to Red Dead Online? Well, it’ll be free to anyone with a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 on either Xbox One or PS4. What with RDR2 releasing come October 26th 2018, we won’t have long to wait!
We’ll be sure to bring you more details as and when they drop.
