Samurai Shodown IV boosts the NEOGEO numbers on Xbox One

-

Best of 2025

There definitely seems to be a little bit of a theme here. Not only do we have another weekly addition of a NEOGEO title on Xbox One, but this one brings yet another Samurai Shodown title to the console.

Should you not have found your life complete with Samurai Shodown 1, 2 or 3, then the next game in line may well be able to help. ACA NEOGEO Samurai Shodown IV is here and whilst it was first released by SNK way back in 1996, if you’re a retro fan and need another fighter, this should be it.

Priced at £6.39 and available from the Microsoft Store right now, Samurai Shodown IV will see you utilising Anger Gauges to ensure the fight is even more intense and the chance to challenge Amakusa in order to save the modern day world.

You’ll find that all the usual ACA NEOGEO additions are available so expect to find worldwide leaderboards giving you the chance to match up against your mates, and the amendment of difficulty settings to help when the fight gets too tough – or too easy.

It’s not going to be a game that appeals to all, but if you fancy a new fighter and are happy to go all retro, then ACA NEOGEO Samurai Shodown IV one of the best bets yet.

Game Description:

SAMURAI SHODOWN IV is a fighting game released by SNK in 1996. Warriors with their own respective goalsspeculations will challenge Amakusa who has returned to life again, and plans to conquer the modern world. Attacks using the “Anger Gauge” can lead to unexpected outcomes and make battles even more intense! The “ACA NEOGEO” series has faithfully reproduced many classic NEOGEO masterpieces. Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, and also reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time. Players can also compete against each other from all over the world with their high scores. Please enjoy the masterpiece that built a generation for video games.
