They’re the world’s most famous fighting team, and very soon the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be back on your favourite console or PC, proving that turtle power is once again the flavour of the month with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge.

Announced today for release on PC via Steam and console at some point a bit later down the line, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge comes about via a collaboration between Dotemu, Nickelodeon and Tribute Games.

The totally radical Turtles will once again assemble as one as they work their way through an all-new adventure that has been inspired by the most classic of Turtles affairs – notably Turtles in Time. A side scrolling beat-em-up, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will see the fearless foursome – Leo, Raph, Mikey and Don – team up to kick shell throughout a beautifully realized pixel arted world.

It is this world which invokes memories of the classic 1987 design and without a shadow of doubt you’ll want to join the team as they leap and bash their way across Manhattan.

As you would expect to hear, all the series favourites will be in place too. Bebop and Rocksteady will be found happily bringing support for Krang and Shredder, as the Turtles visit some of the most iconic TMNT locales – from the usual sewers right up to the boroughs of New York City and out to Dimension X.

With Dotemu previously behind Streets of Rage 4 and Tribute Games comprised of some of those behind the highly acclaimed Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, it’s odds on that this next Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles romp will be one full of energy. We’ll be sure to keep you up-to-date with progress in the weeks and months ahead but in the meantime let us know all your turtling thoughts in the comments below. And yes, that IS Faith No More’s Mike Patton screaming the theme.

Cowabunga!
