Dino Crisis – two words that conjure up a ton of memories and a huge amount of love. But since the heady dino-filled days of the late 1990s, the franchise has been left to deliver just that – memories. Now though it’s time for the spiritual successor to Dino Crisis and Hashbane Interactive have announced Instinction will be coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC.
Instinction is one of the most anticipated action adventure survival horror titles in recent history, not just promising to deliver a wonderfully gripping narrative, tons of responsive combat and a host of weaponry, but a good number of dinosaurs for good measure. Lots of dinosaurs.
Due to release on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC at some point around Q3 2022, Instinction will also bring with it advanced dismemberment, interactive and destructible environments and the full power of Unreal Engine in order to ensure a wholesome and engaging experience.
Instinction will let you play in both the first person, and that of third person throughout, changing up as the situation calls for it. It will see you playing as one of three salvage crew members, or across cooperative opportunities, both of which will allow for the exploration of unknown depths and the discovery of many secrets. Expect to be treated to a game that is full of objectives, upgrades, side quests and more, as the dino-fuelled adventure fast turns into an unforgettable journey.
There will be a host of customisable opportunities too with weapon loadouts to suit your playstyle, melee weapons right up to rocket launchers, all of which will have their own in-game attachments, skins and reticles. Instinction will also make the most of adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, whilst in-game settings can be amended to your own desires – pretty much everything can be customised to ensure this plays the way you want.
“We wanted what many gamers wanted, a modern take on an age old cult classic, a dinosaur survival game with modern mechanics and a compelling story, after 20 years waiting we had no choice but to make one ourselves, and it had to be amazing so as to pay homage to the original, with full mod support for the community!”
Hashbane are obviously keep to ensure that Instinction does the Dino Crisis crown well, and are paying particular attention to Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and all the most hardcore technology. Expect to see ray-tracing used, DLSS 2.0, HDRI, screen space effects, shadows, reflections, and ambient occlusion. There will also be dynamic resolution and frame rates allowing for forwad support up to 8k and 120fps.
The audio comes with just as many fancy terms – Advanced Ambisonics and Convolution Reverb provide a fully immersive three-dimensional sound experience, whilst environmental audio reacts relative to position and origination point. It’s all good stuff.
