After the success of Surviving Mars, it seems only right that Paradox Interactive will be found expanding on the franchise, and today comes the announcement that Surviving the Aftermath will be the next game in line, with a release in late 2020 occurring on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Due to run as a post-apocalyptic survival colony builder, Surviving the Aftermath will hit Xbox One, PS4 and PC – on both Steam and the Epic Games Store – in late 2020. Whilst early details are very thin on the ground, you can be sure that more details surrounding the game will be revealed at the PDXCON in Berlin on Saturday October 19th 2019, with the promise that an Early Access edition of the game will hit PC and Xbox One via the Epic Games Store and Xbox Game Preview later this year.

With Haemimont Games developing Surviving Mars, introducing the series and providing all manner of colony building opportunities, and then its very own Green Planet expansion pushing things on further, the announcement of Surviving the Aftermath is nothing but intriguing, and we can’t wait to see what Paradox have up their sleeves.

“With the staggering growth of Surviving Mars this year we knew we had something special and we wanted to find new ways to utilize survival management gameplay,” Nikhat Ali, Lead Producer on Surviving the Aftermath and Surviving Mars at Paradox Interactive, said. “Surviving the Aftermath gives us the opportunity to experiment with these mechanics in new and interesting ways that we think our players will love.”

We will be sure to bring you the details regarding Surviving the Aftermath as and when they drop, but for now make sure you check out our full review of Surviving Mars. If you like what you are reading and are up for checking it out then you may well like to know that Surviving Mars and all of its DLC are heading to the Epic Games store on October 10th. Kicking off as part of Epic’s Free Games Program, the Surviving Mars base game and Space Race DLC will be free to download for a week, after the free period, the game will be available to purchase for suggested retail price $29.99.
