Take a trip away from it all with Train Sim World 3 and The Holiday Express – Runaway Elf Add-on

We’re well accustomed with Dovetail Games filling out the Train Sim World 3 roster with multiple DLC packs, but for this holiday season they are mixing things up a bit more than the norm, with the addition of the Train Sim World 3: The Holiday Express – Runaway Elf Add-on.

Available to purchase, download and add into your Train Sim World game today, the Train Sim World 3: The Holiday Express – Runaway Elf Add-on does away with the usual features of a TSW DLC pack. There are no spectacular landscapes here, the dynamic weather has done one and the usual highly detailed environments are being pushed to one side. Instead Train Sim World 3 is scaling down, embracing cardboard cities, box televisions and living rooms. Yep, The Holiday Express – Runaway Elf content chucks you into a miniature train set.

Arriving for all Train Sim World 3 players to enjoy today, the Train Sim World 3: The Holiday Express – Runaway Elf Add-on will see you playing out the role of the driver of this mini set, as you make your way around the glow of a fire, through Sofa Central and around Xmas Tree Loop. From there, Television Towers awaits along with Blackboard Branch, as the most delicate of childhood memories comes to the fore.

It all sounds rather pleasant, but Dovetail mic it up even more with the arrival of a mischievous little elf. This guy is found doing what a little Elf does best, creating havoc. It’s up to you to tidy it all up.

You’ll do this thanks to a name that will be familiar to long-time fans of Dovetail Games, as it makes its debut in Train Sim World. Yep, the Richie Rails brand comes to the rescue! A uniquely liveried F7 locomotive, popular among American model railroaders, gives ample power to pursue the naughty elf and makes the miniaturised train set look perfect in its 1980s domestic setting. But be careful! Just like a real train set, the curves are rather sharp and so catching the elf will require more than just a heavy right… hand?

You’ll also find collectibles to hunt down, the odd Easter Egg to marvel over and more. And with Train Sim World 3’s Scenario Planner, you’ll be able to take trains from Southeastern Highspeed, Cajon Pass and Kassel-Würzburg, as well as Train Sim World Compatible content, to whizz between armchairs and sofas this Christmas.

With a copy of Train Sim World 3 to hand (the base game is on Game Pass from the Xbox Store), you’ll be able to grab the Train Sim World 3: The Holiday Express – Runaway Elf Add-on from the usual Xbox, PlayStation or PC digital stores. It’ll be available today – expect to pay £7.99/$9.99/€9.99.
