Tennis World Tour 2 next-gen confirmed as new players drop

Tennis World Tour 2 is the most comprehensive tennis experience on the market, giving players the chance to play solo, with friends, across a career, through tournaments and with some of the best well-known stars of the game, at some of the most iconic venues. Having first released on Xbox One, PS4, PC and Switch back in September, NACON and Big Ant Studios have today confirmed that the game will be coming to next-gen consoles and have celebrated that fact by dropping a couple of new players onto the court.

So, we’ll start with the next-gen goodness and Tennis World Tour 2 will be looking to continue to fire the aces down the line when it hits Xbox Series X|S and PS5 in March 2021. Sold as a Special Edition, this will include the base game, additional content and gameplay improvements – something which may help raise its status after our initial review.

Further to that comes the Annual Pass, something that we’ve known about for a while. This includes four DLC packs to the game, across the course of four months, with the first of those the previously released Official Tournaments and Stadia Pack. Now we get set to welcome in a couple more players though with the second major addition, and this sees US player Sofia Kenin and Karolina Plíšková from the Czech Republic arrive for a match or two. Both are present in the Annual Pass, or will set you back £4.19 from the Store of your choosing.

Two further DLCs will release in January and March and will include a range of additional content: a new tournament, eight new players, new stadiums, gears and clothing.

If you’re looking for a tennis title to keep you entertained over the course of the next few months, it may well be worth you checking out Tennis World Tour 2, especially when it makes its way to Xbox Series X and PS5 in March. If you can’t wait that long, just pop over to the Xbox Store now and grab the game on Xbox One – or the usual offerings for PS4, Nintendo Switch or PC.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
