There is no debate that the Crysis franchise is a hella good looking set of games. Now though it’s set to look even better as the Crysis Remastered Trilogy arrives on Xbox, Switch and PlayStation.

Available to download right now, Crysis Remastered Trilogy brings together the three game that you would expect – Crysis, Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 – all in fully optimised, remastered form. It’s the optimisation and enhancements which will be of most interest to Xbox and PlayStation players as the games can be played smoother than ever before. You see, the originals dropped in at an average of 720p and up to 30fps. Not bad in itself but here and now in 2021 that is being moved out to between 1080p and 4K at 60fps on Xbox Series X and PS5.

Dynamic Resolution is also thrown in, allowing for excellent performance on current systems, whilst the Trilogy will now also include improved lighting, visually enhanced characters, weapons and environments, alongside some HD textures for good measure.

The original Crysis Remastered has been available for a while, but now Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 join it, to provide a trio of games which could well be seen as the finest remastering of a trilogy yet. And if you would prefer to pick up any one of the games, they are available individually at £24.99 each too.

“We’re delighted to bring fans of the Crysis franchise, Crysis Remastered Trilogy, which will accompany the separate release of the remasters of Crysis 2 and Crysis 3.” said Steffen Halbig, Project Lead. “Players can look forward to reliving the adventure with stunning graphics, smooth frame rates, and high-quality textures on whichever platform they choose, with lightning-fast 60 FPS gameplay available on next-gen consoles, alongside a host of other graphical optimizations. We’d encourage all players to check out the comparision trailers to see the differences themselves“.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
