We’re no strangers to being treated to new freebies each and every month, and whilst Game Pass is most certainly front and centre, kicking around in the background is the old Games With Gold scheme. It’s that which provides Xbox gamers with some new freebies.

Running throughout September and beyond, the Xbox Games With Gold scheme will deliver four new freebies to Xbox players. Those games – provided you are subscribed to Gold – will be yours to download, play, keep and enjoy forevermore. It’s a pretty decent month if truth be told too.

Becoming available from September 1st and running right through to the middle of October (depending on the game) will be the following titles, totally stripped of their price tags and available to download free via Games With Gold…

With Game Pass also providing four free games today too, it’s a great time to be an Xbox gamer.

Of course, with new Games With Gold options on the table, it does mean that those free titles from the month just gone will soon be moving back up in price. Calico will lose the free love come the end of August, as will Monaco What’s Yours Is Mine. You will however still be able to download Scourgebringer for free for another couple of weeks.

As for Saints Row 2, the other GWG freebie for August. That’s long gone back up in price, but hey, at least you can go and play the brilliant reboot of the series in the new Saints Row.

Expect to find the first two Games With Gold titles for September going free any minute now. Double Kick Heroes and Portal 2 will drop down mid-month. We’ll be sure to let you know when that occurs.

The comments are below if you fancy chatting about the free Xbox games being provided in the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for September 2022.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
