Available right now from the Maximum Entertainment and Fabloo Games teams is Quadroids, all after being created by a solo dev at Blue Loop Studio. It’s on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, as well as PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. Wherever you play, you can be sure it’s going to put your mind to the test.
A four-screen test of the mind
In Quadroids you are presented with some four screens. Each interconnected, it’s up to you to help navigate some little bots – them’s the Quadroids – to end of stage portals. You’re doing this in order to help out the evil overlord, Roboctopus, all as it looks for galactic domination.
Control is simple, with each screen assigned a jump button – RB, LB, LT, RT. Utilising a combination of bumpers and triggers will see you able to jump your ever-moving, ever-wandering Quadroids to their goal.
But obviously it won’t be easy. Not only do you need to get to grips with four screens at once, but each of those is full of traps and obstacles. The thing is, Roboctopus doesn’t care for fallen Quadroids, and neither should you. In fact, you’ll want to embrace their deaths, utilising them going forward.
It’s all a bit of a twisting mix, but it works well. Our full review of Quadroids on Xbox is currently in the works and will be live soon. Until then, feast your eyes on the taxing features of Quadroids on Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Switch.
