For a long ol’ while we have wanted to relive the glory days with our favourite purple dragon, and whilst Crash Bandicoot’s return to the current console generation was a welcome luxury, the Spyro: Reignited Trilogy is now here, letting us play the best of Spyro’s titles.
Out today on Xbox One and PS4, the Reignited Trilogy brings back the original Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! and Spyro: The Year of the Dragon to relive and replay in beautiful HD remastered visuals. Each and every level has been meticulously recreated to the extent that each enemy and obstacle is in exactly the same position as it was decades ago!
If you aren’t entirely sure what Spyro gets up to on his adventures, then in the Spyro: Reignited Trilogy you can expect to be deploying a variety of dragon abilities such as fire-breathing to dispose of standard goons and boss enemies alike. Traversal across the three titles will be mostly via the medium of gliding, and picking up items that are littered across the game-worlds will be something that you should be doing.
And of course, as is the norm with most remasters, the visuals have been given a huge overhaul – especially in contrast to the decades-gone Spyro visuals of old. The HD visuals look extremely crisp and any Spyro veteran or newcomer to the series will enjoy them.
If you wish to get back into (or get into for the first time) the illustrious Spyro franchise, then you can’t do better than picking up the Spyro: Reignited Trilogy on Xbox One for £34.99. Alternatively, you can pick it up on PS4 also.
