Thought Sonic was fast? Spark the Electric Jester 2 comes to Xbox One

Us Xbox gamers may have missed out on having the chance to play through the original Spark the Electric Jester from 2017, and the development team may have just announced that they are working on Spark the Electric Jester 3. But here and now all Xbox eyes are trained on one game – Spark the Electric Jester 2. 

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Spark the Electric Jester 2 is – as the name suggests – the second title in the Spark the Electric Jester series; a series that has been built on the back of elements of Sonic, Mega Man and Kirby. 

Coming from the Fepard Games team, Spark the Electric Jester 2 rocks up onto Xbox One a year or so after first releasing on PC, picking the tale up from right at the end of the first game. Now obviously us console players can’t play that first game, but we’re pretty sure that won’t matter one jot, as Spark 2 puts us in control of Fark as he goes about searching for is true identity. 

Priced at £16.74, Spark 2 promises to deliver high speed platforming action at its best, as you get to speed through multiple levels, working past bosses and animated cutscenes in the hope that your eyes don’t start to bleed. With a clever mix of platforming and action, and multiple powers to pick up and utilise, Spark 2 promises to ensure that there are many different ways to complete each and every stage, as you go about platforming in the third dimension. 

Throw in a soundtrack that comes from the composers behind the first game – we’ll trust the developers on this one – and you’ve got a game that sounds just as good as it looks.

The gameplay is a mix of action and platforming in a clever way, taking elements from many games of both genres, you are able to find powers that change the way you play, enjoy a great freedom of movement, discover many different ways to beat each stage and ways to do it faster.
