2026's Best Games

times & galaxy

You may have previously seen the announcement that Times & Galaxy, a funny heartfelt journo-themed adventure would be coming to PC this year. Well, guess what? Copychaser Games and Fellow Traveller have now confirmed Times & Galaxy is coming to Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch too.

Just as a closed beta test looks to go live on Steam – apply now if you fancy yourself as the latest intern – Times & Galaxy looks set to land on the consoles of this world too. When? Well, we’re not entirely sure on that one, but a Q2 2024 release window is planned.

A new space adventure

A weirdo space journalism adventure, Times & Galaxy has been put together by former journalists, as they hope of delivering a funny, heartfelt adventure about space aliens and the richness of the stories that make up their everyday lives.

It is set in a solar system full of space lizards (augers), goo people (xeel), robots and other assorted species. That does include humans, and it’s here where you’ll look to step into the shoes of an intern at the system’s most trusted holopaper, the Times & Galaxy.

Find your place in the world and you’ll be left to embark on assignments across the galaxy, meeting a colorful cast of over 100 alien weirdos. You’ll also get to do a bit of reporting as well, focusing on some of the most important hyper-local stories such as the Humania Dirt Fair or a Space Ghost Funeral!

But why? Well, keeping your job at the end of the internship and winning a coveted spot on the permanent team is the ultimate goal.

The Scanner is at the heart of things

As you may have guessed, the staff of the Times & Galaxy don’t work from home, they live at work! Specifically they live and work on the Scanner, a huge starship/newsroom converted from a decommissioned warship. In between assignments, players will build – and no doubt break – relationships with their fellow reporters and the ship’s crew.

And they’ll be doing it via a story of more than 200,000 words. You can be sure that the choices they make on and off the record will impact both the direction of the paper and how their colleagues feel about them.

Interested? While you wait for that Q2 2024 release of Times & Galaxy on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, you can take in the demo on PC via Steam. Times & Galaxy will also be coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.

Get your eyes on the initial reveal trailer from a few months back.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
