Imagine having to save the world whilst overcoming a disability. Well, that’s exactly what the main protagonists of Weakless must do in order to stop their fantastical realm from succumbing to something awful. It’s the opportune time to help them too now that it’s available on Xbox One.

These main characters in need of guidance are two unique and carefree wooden creatures known as the Weavelings. You must aid them on this journey through a variety of stunning organic environments, which are filled with curious life-forms and a bioluminescent glow, to prevent the spread of Rot. The only caveat for this task is that one of the characters cannot hear, Deaf, and the other cannot see, Blind. As a result, the idea is to use the unique skills of both characters to solve puzzles and experience the adventure of a lifetime. At the same time, you’ll discover how, on occasion, the only superpower you really need is the power of friendship.

Weaklesss is a wordless adventure, however there is a wonderful soundtrack to accompany it and it’s comprised of music that’s been created by instruments from all across the globe; we’re talking the likes of the marimba, RAV vast, and udu.

Should you wish to embrace its meaningful narrative and get a glimpse of the artistic way that visually-impaired and hearing-impaired people perceive the world, Weakless is currently available on Xbox One via the Xbox Store for £16.74. The PC players amongst you will have to wait a little while longer though, with a release coming in early 2020. If you do purchase Weakless, get in touch and let us know what you think of it by leaving a comment below or shooting us a message on social media.

Game Description:

They say friendship comes about when two people complement each other. In Weakless, this is not just a mere observation about interactions, it’s a very palpable thing. Lead two characters – one without the sense of hearing, the other with no sense of vision – through a beautiful, organic, fantasy world filled with challenging puzzles. Use the extraordinary set of skills they’ve developed because of their disabilities, and witness the growing bond between these two very remarkable companions. In Weakless you can control only one character at a time, which means you can’t use the senses of both of them simultaneously. Because of this, you get a unique perspective on how differently they perceive the world around them and at the same time how the two support and complement each other. Deaf being his usual “whizz in a pinny” brings joy to the slightly defensive and introverted Blind. While Blind on the other hand, with the power of his calmness, takes care of the ubiquitous Deaf. Find strengths in your weaknesses. In our world, people with no vision or hearing often have other, sharper, senses. The same is true for Weavelings. Discover the extraordinary set of skills your heroes have, and prove to the world that what’s always been considered a weakness can, in fact, be a mighty advantage. Fairytale-like world. The game takes place in a world full of wonderful, distinctive landscapes. Your path will lead through caves full of glowing fungi, natural basins, forgotten ruins and more. Traveling through this extraordinary world will lead the Weavelings to experience the adventure of their lifetime and discover the mysterious past that led to their home teetering on the edge of destruction. Resin is your source of life. Protect the village and the Weavelings’ civilization by restoring the steady flow of Resin, the life energy for every living creature in this world. Save the land from the advancing Rot.
