Even though CATAN – Console Edition hasn’t quite met the ‘official’ street date, you can get playing on Xbox and PlayStation right now, making the most of the crossplay it brings.
Due to officially launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, with crossplay support in house, on February 28th 2023, Dovetail Games and their friends at Nomad Games are breaking the rules, delivering the full CATAN – Console Edition to players right now.
Yep, by pre-ordering CATAN – Console Edition on Xbox or PlayStation, you can be playing the game right now, trading, building and settling as you go. And whilst that whole ‘pre-order’ thing may put many off, in reality you just need to go and purchase the game in the usual manner in order to get involved.
The official video game version of the acclaimed board game, CATAN – Console Edition on Xbox and PlayStation brings forth single player elements, the usual multiplayer side of things you would expect, plus crossplay to ensure that the matches keep flowing no matter what edition you are playing on.
We don’t think we need to go too in-depth as to what and how CATAN brings, it’s a game that pretty much anyone and everyone has played at some time or another, but this one sees the usual tiles come to life, as you look to grow settlements and take charge of the board. With 4-player support for local players and similar across the online scenes, CATAN in video game form could well best the board game options.
