Ubisoft confirm Immortals Fenyx Rising, Riders Republic, Prince of Persia and Scott Pilgrim

-

ubisoft forward sept 2020

Ubisoft were always going to drop some tasty details at their most recent Ubisoft Forward event, and whilst we had hopes of seeing new trailers for Watch Dogs: Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, we got a ton more included too – with details and release dates for the likes of Immortals Fenyx Rising, Riders Republic, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition.

So where do we start? Well, it would make sense to go with the biggest of the big first and whilst we previously knew that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla would be making a drop on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, as well as Xbox One, PS4, PC and, at some point, PS5, come November 10th, and Watch Dogs: Legion would be releasing come October 29th, further details surrounding the latter are interesting. See, good old Stormzy will be found in Watch Dogs: Legion, joining the resistance and coming complete with his own mission. Further to that though, he’ll also have his ‘Rainfall’ (feat. Tiana Major9) present and correct in-game, with the official music video fully realised as part of the mission.
The mission ‘Fall on My Enemies’ will see Stormzy enlisting the resistance group to protect the broadcast of his track Rainfall in central London. This is where you, the player comes in.

“We are thrilled for Stormzy to be a part of Watch Dogs: Legion. His music and what he speaks to as an artist is extremely relevant for our London setting, and for the larger themes of our game,” commented Clint Hocking, Creative Director at Ubisoft Toronto. He added, “It’s been almost a year since we had Stormzy in the studio to film his performance. He lit up the room, and captivated us all. He’s a great collaborator, and it was a career highlight for us to get to work with him.”

But then there will other games to enjoy too, and whilst news that Rainbow Six Siege is coming to the next-gen with 4K, 120fps support on Xbox Series X | S and PS5 at no additional cost to current players (and with cross-gen progression systems in place) and even though AGOS: A Game of Space will sort out the VR fans, in our eyes, everything was trained on Immortals Fenyx Rising, Riders Republic, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition.

Going from the top and Immortals Fenyx Rising is the new name for Gods & Monsters, a game that has gone seriously quiet over the last months. Now though we have confirmation that it’ll be coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch on December 3rd, with a PS5 launch occuring on the launch of the console.

In Immortals Fenyx Rising, the fate of the world is at stake – and you are the last hope. Bringing grand mythological adventures to life, you will get the chance to play as Fenyx, a winged demigod who is all set on a quest to save the Greek gods and their home from a dark curse.

From there you should expect to take on many mythological beasts, master the legendary powers of the gods and defeat Typhon, the deadliest Titan in Greek mythology, in an epic fight for the ages. To us, that seems to fit the previous guise of Gods and Monsters perfectly, but then, what do we know.

Further still though was the announcement of Riders Republic. A brand new IP that plays out in a massive multiplayer outdoor sports playground, this is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS4, PS5, Google Stadia and PC on February 25th 2021.

As stated, Riders Republic throws you into a massive multiplayer playground, one in which you’ll find yourself skiing, snowboards, biking and wingsuiting your way across a huge open world sports paradise. Sounds like STEEP, eh? Well, yes and no as this looks to take that and run with it, seeing Ubisoft deliver a racer full of mass competitor starts (more than 50 players on next-gen, 20 on current), the chance to develop your career, or the opportunity to go free roaming with your mates.

With some magnificent destinations in the house – American National Parks. Bryce Canyon, Yosemite Valley, Sequoia Park, Zion, Canyonlands, Mammoth Mountain and Grand Teton have all been faithfully transposed before being mashed up to fit – and Riders Republic looks set to deliver an adrenaline junkies dream.

There is no stopping Ubisoft though and they had even more bombs to drop – namely that they are working on a first full-scale remake of 2003’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, developing it from the ground up with the Anvil game engine. Oh, and Scott Pilgrim is back too, with a Holiday 2020 drop on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia and PC of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition. Why? Well, it’s the 10th anniversary of the game, so why not?

All in all Ubisoft are going big in the coming months with multiple games and IPs for gamers across both the current generation and next-gen consoles and PC. But which are you most interested in? Is it the big hitting AC Valhalla or Watch Dogs: Legion? Or does Scott Pilgrim and Prince of Persia perk you up? Check out all the trailers below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
