Despite having the most visual novel-like name the world has ever seen, Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story 2 on Xbox is actually a hybrid of both the RPG and life-sim genres. Fans of the 2018 original will feel right at home with this sequel.
You’re a Hero, Harry!:
Whilst you aren’t joining any type of famous magical school – see Hogwarts Legacy for that! – Valthirian Arc: Hero School Story 2 sees you controlling a party of students at Hero School. They are set up to be the greatest heroes in history. The game was found releasing on PlayStation, Switch and PC recently. It is now the turn of Xbox to experience this in-depth RPG x simulation title.
Your students’ time at Hero School is suddenly curtailed with the awakening of an ancient dragon, threatening to lay waste to the world of Valithiria. The management, simulation side of the school remains important – you’ll have to set up each student’s timetable, optimising their education for heroic success. The fantastical threat of the dragon is equally as vital.
In fighting against the dragon and its forces, you’ll be taking a party of students into intricate turn-based combat, micro-managing the individual stats of your party members, as well as learning which students synergise with each other.
Everyone Needs Downtime:
Despite a towering fiery beast threatening to destroy the world, there’s still downtime to be had. In between managing control of the school and fighting your enemies, you’ll be taking part in a variety of minigames. These range from serene fishing, to friendly snowman-building.
After a delay to the Xbox release, developers Agate International are proud to release Valthirian Arc 2: Hero School Story 2 onto Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. To pick up a copy, you can do so for £16.99 via the Xbox Store. Alternatively, the game is available on PS5, PS4, Switch and PC.
