2026's Best Games

Think of a cooking game and you’ll no doubt usher up memories of the chaos of Overcooked!. But this summer you’ll get the chance to cook from the heart, as Venba comes to PC, console and Game Pass.

From those at Team Visai is Venba, a debut title that won’t just be releasing on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC, but will also be making the most of the power of Game Pass as it unveils itself this coming summer.

Venba will have you playing as an Indian mother, the titular Venba, who immigrates to Canada with her family in the 1980s. From there players will get to cook various dishes and decipher long lost family recipes, working through branching conversations, exploring the story about the family, their love and some loss.

Promising to deliver mouthwatering dishes, in Venba the all-important cook book gets damaged in her move. It’ll be up to you to restor these flavours, re-creating recipes to fill the book and – ultimately – serve as a connection to the home that has been left behind.

Exploration, conversation and a host of experience awaits in Venba, as you spend time getting to know the family, holding branching conversations, and exploring the newfound world around you, all as challenges arise from day to day life.

It’s a game that we are immediately on board with, not just because Venba looks to cover some delicate bases, but because of the draw of Game Pass.

We’ll be sure to keep you looped in as to how things progress ahead of that summer release as Venba gears up for Xbox, PlayStation, Switch through the Nintendo eShop and PC play. You can wishlist on Steam if you like. For now, take in the trailer and let us know what you think of this one. It’s going to be a world away from pretty much any other cooking game you would have played.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
