The world continues to revolve and the Xbox news never stops coming. Which were our favourite pieces from between the 1st-6th August 2016? The following shouldn’t be missed!

Does Project Scorpio spell doom for Xbox One?

Just at the end of Xbox’s E3 2016 conference, Microsoft dropped a bombshell – Project Scorpio, a new console designed to dominate the console market. But does this new ‘super console’ spell doom for our faithful Xbox One and will the Xbox One be old news when Project Scorpio is released?

Danny has a look at how Project Scorpio will change the Xbox market, how Virtual Reality comes into play, and how the new console will affect our current Xbox One. If you are unsure on any aspect of Project Scorpio then we have all the details on our article.

Are the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for August 2016 any good?

The Xbox Live Games for Gold scheme is something to be embraced and enjoyed for any Gold member. But sometimes the two free Xbox One and two free backwards compatible Xbox 360 games just don’t live up to our expectations.

Now August has come around and we take a look at the free games we can pick up this month. Are they really worth playing for more than the odd five minutes on our Xbox consoles? Well, it’s certainly not the month many of us wanted to see.

Overcooked Review

Overcooked is a game which requires patience, teamwork and a cool head, especially if you want to achieve great things in this chaotic, colourful cooking experience.

While we certainly haven’t had to cook on a moving lorry or in the depths of a volcano in real life, that doesn’t stop us giving our opinions on what it is like to do so in Overcooked. Combining shouting and sheer panic – two things which come naturally when you are trying to make a burrito whilst surrounded by lava – anyone looking to pick up the game for a bit of fun with friends will certainly be happy. If you’re not sure, it’s probably best to give our full review a read.

Batman – The Telltale Series Episode 1: Realm of Shadows Review

There is simply no denying that Telltale Games are the masters of episodic adventures, and now we have Batman the latest franchise to get the Telltale treatment.

While the Arkham games and combat systems are brilliant, sometimes we just want to sit back and live like the playboy-billionaire Bruce Wayne, experiencing his life away from vigilante justice as Batman for a while… and that is exactly what Batman – The Telltale Series Episode 1: Realm of Shadows lets you do.

James gives his thoughts on Episode 1: Realm of Shadows, released this week, seeing how the two sides of one man affects the gameplay and overall story of the episode. Bat-fans – look no further than our review.

Unboxing the 2TB Xbox One S console

So, that’s nearly it for another week but excuse us if we leave you this time round with a look at the newest console on the block…the Xbox One S.

We’ve got our hands on the 2TB version of Microsoft’s world beating console and whilst you should be seeing a full review up on site very soon, for now an unboxing video, taking you on a close up journey across the console and the new white Xbox One S controller, should keep you entertained.

Feel free to have a watch. Catch you next week.

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
