Which of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold bargains should you pick up? – 15th September 2015

Another week of Xbox Live Deals With Gold is now in place, but which of the Xbox One and Xbox 360 discounts in place should you be buying…and which shouldn’t you be touching with a barge pole.

Unfortunately, the week isn’t the best for deals, with only a couple really standing out.

Grab – Jet Car Stunts – 50% off – £2.00

Jet Car Stunts may not be the greatest game you’ll be playing this week, in fact it’s not even the best digital only racer you’re able to pick up from the Xbox One Games Store, but for two quid? Surely it can’t be missed.

Grip Games have brought the game over from the mobile scene and if you’re able to put up with a seriously steep learning curve amid some testing tracks, the £2 you can currently pick it up for looks fairly decent. If you’re not sure, take a look at our review.

Leave – Warframe: 3210 Platinum + Triple Rare Mods – 30% off – £76.99

I don’t care how free a game is, in app purchases or micro-transactions are something I’ll always turn my nose up at. £76.99 for some Platinum and rare mods for Warframe on Xbox One really does take the biscuit…that’s more than a game would cost in itself!

Grab – Darksiders – 80% off – £2.99

Whilst both the original Darksiders and its sequel are on sale this week, it’s the former that excites us.

It’s the better game out of the two, the cheaper game out of the two and the one you should be going to get involved in now. That’s not to say you should leave Darksiders II alone (buy it if you have the cash), but for the money, we’d most definitely point you towards the first one.

Leave – Grand Theft Auto V – 20% off – £43.99 on Xbox One and Grand Theft Auto V – 58% off – £20.99 on Xbox 360

The price of the Xbox 360 version of GTA V isn’t the issue, but instead in amongst a 360 deals week that is filled with games under a tenner, GTA V stands out as the most expensive by a mile. If you must get it, and you’re running on the 360, then we’re pretty certain you’ll be able to grab it for cheaper than the 58% that is currently off.

The Xbox One version is however stupidly over priced. A 20% discount doesn’t really tempt us in, although if that was doubled, giving us a price nearer to the Xbox 360 version, then we’d be interested.

For now though, it’s just not cheap enough to really worry about.

That’s about it for this week and yet again we’re pushed to find any real decent bargains. You can however find the full listing of this week’s Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale for 15th-21st Sept 2015 right here.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
