Veterans of Xbox Live may yet again be complaining about the repetition of the current Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale as the vast majority of reductions in place this week have been seen on numerous occasions before. However, there are still a few bargains that shouldn’t be missed…especially if you are a relative newcomer to the world of Xbox.

Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams Directors Cut – Xbox One – Currently reduced to £6.00/$7.50

Xbox One owners have drawn a bit of a short straw this time round. AC Unity can be picked up much cheaper elsewhere and The Amazing Spider-man 2 is a bit rubbish. Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams – Directors Cut however should be right up on your list of downloads.

So, it may have a stupidly long name, and you may have played it previously on Xbox 360, but for £6 you should be hitting the download button asap.

With 33 levels split across two dynamically different dream worlds, Giana Sisters brings fluid gameplay, tight controls and plenty of puzzles to Xbox One. Obviously we’re also now being treated to full HD visuals (that’s the main point of the remaster isn’t it?!) and the inclusion of previous DLC as standard.

You could do much worse than check it out at the very least.

Max Payne 3 – Xbox 360 – Currently reduced to £3.74/$4.99

Depending on who you speak to you’ll either find a massive critic or huge fan of Max 3. Thankfully we sit in the fan camp!

Finding himself in a strange unfamiliar city, Max will need to use all his cunning, and his shooting prowess, in order to fight his way out and find out the truth behind the going-ons in Brazil. With the inclusion of Bullet time and Shootdodge effects, you’ll find a dark, twisted story hiding beneath the glorious visuals.

…and it’s less than £4!

Midnight Club LA – Xbox 360 – Currently reduced to £2.99/$3.74

I have a bit of a soft spot for Midnight Club LA. It may be a number of years old – nearly six to be precise – but it’ll bring you hours of joyful exploration and tense rubber band racing. With no defined race track and only the streets of LA to keep you pointing in the right direction, you’ll be able to take in some of the world’s hottest tuners, muscle and luxury cars, exotics and superbikes. Unfortunatley Rockstar retired a couple of features in the middle of last year but the racing is still there and should be checked out.

The best way to see LA is at 245MPH and for less than three quid, it’s a steal.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
