Microsoft’s shiny new Xbox One X may not have been with us all too long, but that hasn’t stopped a decent flow of Xbox One X enhancements arriving for a number of games in the time since. Now we see another game join the list of those upgraded titlesThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Interest for enhancements to come to The Witcher 3 has been there for some time now, and today CD PROJEKT RED have finally given the fans what they’ve asked for.

Those with an Xbox One X will find the upgrade patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt bringing a number of new graphical improvements and changes to the game across both of the new visual fidelity options.

As with some of the previously enhanced titles, The Witcher 3’s upgrade comes with a 4K Mode and Performance Mode options.

Those choosing to go forth into the Redanian cities of Novigrad and Oxenfurt and through to the Skellige Islands in the new 4K Mode will find the game and all available additional content now running in 4K resolution, or supersampled on non-4K displays. This of course means you can expect to see all the usual graphical improvements that come alongside such updates, with enhanced shadows, ambient occlusion, texture filtering and higher resolution textures, whilst gameplay will run at a steady 30 fps.

Performance Mode on the other hand will enable dynamic resolution scaling, which will render the game at a resolution of 1080p minimum all the way up to 4K, whilst targeting 60 fps during gameplay.

Both of the new graphical modes are sure to utilise the vast amount of power available to the Xbox One X, and will additionally bring support for HDR to ensure the game looks more vivid when played on an HDR-capable display.

Those wanting to get in on some 4K greatness with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can do so now on Xbox One X.

I have this installed but have yet to start it. At least I’ll be getting the best version straight away when I play it.
