In a little over a month, Xbox One, PS4 and PC gamers will have the opportunity to jump aboard the latest racer to the hit the scene when Bigben and Kylotonn launch WRC 8 to the world. If you’re up for the challenge of a new rally racer, and have high hopes for the next iteration in the series, then you may also be more than interested in the newly announced Special Editions, Collector’s Edition and Pre-Order bonuses that can be taken in.
Coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC on 5th September 2019, with a Nintendo Switch launch occurring a month later, fans of WRC 8 – the official video game of the FIA World Rally Championship – can choose from no less than three different editions of the game: the basic edition, the digital Deluxe edition and the physical Collector edition.
Whilst the basic edition delivers the base game for all to enjoy, it is the Digital Deluxe Edition and Physical Collector Edition which hold huge sway, with them both including a ton of content in the form of new cars, early access and more.

- Digital Deluxe edition content: The digital Deluxe edition includes the base game, early access to the game 48 hours before official release, crew members to add to your staff in Career mode and the Legendary Cars pack. This pack includes three legendary WRC cars from the 70s, 80s and 90s: the Alpine A110, Ford Escort RS and Lancia Delta HF Integrale.
- Physical Collector edition content: The Collector edition includes the base game, a three-month subscription to the WRC+ All Live TV service (this provides over 25 hours of live coverage of each rally, expert analysis and behind-the-scenes reporting), experienced crew members to add to your staff in Career mode and the Legendary Cars pack. Players who buy this edition will also receive an exclusive WRC-themed, collector edition, metal box.
Further to that, players who pre-order any edition of the game will receive the RWD Legends pack, which includes legendary cars from bygone eras: the Lancia 037, the last rear-wheel drive car to win the World Rally Championship; and the Porsche 911 GT3 RS RGT, a powerful monster of a rally car. Those who pre-order the Nintendo Switch version for October (basic edition and physical Collector edition) will receive a WRC 8-themed sleeve for their console.
WRC 8 promises to be the most complete and authentic official WRC simulation yet. New off-road physics for all surfaces, a completely redesigned Career mode, extreme and dynamic weather conditions, 52 teams, 14 countries, 100 special stages, weekly challenges and an eSports mode, will all combine to create the most intense WRC game yet, building on what was found in WRC 7.
We can’t wait. Can you? The Xbox Store or all manner of other store will sort you out with the pre-orders.
