Xbox Game Pass July 2017 game update revealed!

-

Back at the start of June 2017, the Xbox Game Pass was born. Delivering over 100 games to anyone who subscribes, it is a great way for those new to the Xbox way of life to quickly build a library of games worth playing. At the time, it was promised that new games would arrive into the scheme on a fairly regular basis. Well guess what? The first set of additions have today been revealed.

Being added to the Xbox Game Pass from July 1st 2017 will be the following titles…

  • F1 2015
  • The Flame in the Flood
  • Resident Evil 6
  • Dead Island Definitive Edition
  • Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition
  • Bard’s Gold
  • Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine

But if those weren’t enough to tempt you in, then it’s also been confirmed that Xbox Game Pass members can also get a 25% discount on all DLC for Payday 2: Crimewave Edition between 1st-16th July 2017.

With the Xbox Game Pass priced at $9.99, and each and every Xbox One owner getting a 14 day free trial, if you fancy any of the games above, then it may just be worth your while to dip in while the going is good.

Of course, if you’re one of those longer term Xbox gamers who have a library stuffed full of unplayed Xbox One games already, then this will probably be of no interest to you. Unless of course you really really really want to play Dead Island Definitive Edition…

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.

See, I don’t think this is aimed at long time Xbox owners, I think this is aimed at the new customers and, for them, I think this is a great scheme. If I was new I’d be all over it. 100 games to play on my shiny new toy, smashing. It isn’t for me as I’ve had Xbox since the first one and I have about 170 games installed on my HDD currently, so I won’t ever get through them let alone a subscription for more.

Disappointingly old line-up of games to add if I’m being completely honest – I had thought there would be more new(ish) titles added. F1 2017 is out soon… who wants to play the 2015 one now? Guacamelee was a GwG title too. Don’t think my usual game buying habits are going to change any time soon that’s for sure! 😉

Totally agree with you Steve. Can’t see anyone wanting to play any of those again.
