Xuan Yuan Sword 7 comes to the West with launch on Xbox and PlayStation

We’re well used to action RPGs, and we’re more than capable of hunting down a frenetic real-time combat experience should the need take us. But Xuan Yuan Sword 7 combines the both into one super rich experience, powered by a narrative that is more than happy to celebrate ancient China’s civilisation and culture. Right now it’s that game which we find making a debut in the West.

Xuan Yuan Sword 7 drops into Xbox and PlayStation thanks to the eastasiasoft team, putting us in the role of a calm and highly reliable swordsman, Tasishi Zhao. It’s he who is found to be the protector of his family, all ass he looks to uncover the truth behind a blight that is threatening to take down the whole of China.

Premise wise, Xuan Yuan Sword 7 is more than sorted, taking us deep into Chinese history and mythology, reimagining the fantastical governance of a new Xin Dynasty. It’s here where you’ll find yourself traversing the length and breadth of China, hacking, slashing, dodging and blocking foes, all while working with a combo-based real time combat system.

With the Elysium Scroll at the heart of matters and time manipulation coming out of that, there’s an awful lot going on in the world of Xuan Yuan Sword 7. Even more so when you consider the need to upgrade armour, weapons and skills.

Key feature set includes:

  • Journey across ancient China as a cinematic adventure unfolds.
  • Slash, block, dodge and riposte in combo-based real-time combat!
  • Control the Elysium Scroll to slow down time, absorb monsters or alter the environment.
  • Upgrade armor and weapons, develop passive skills and learn new techniques.
  • Explore a standalone story requiring no prior knowledge of Xuan Yuan.
  • Immerse yourself in the most advanced 3D visuals in series history!

Should you be in the market for a new gaming experience and reckon the Xuan Yuan Sword franchise is for you, Xuan Yuan Sword 7 should well be considered. It’s available right now from the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, with a price of £41.74 sorting you out. It’s also present on the PlayStation Store too.

Our full review is very nearly primed and ready to go. It’ll tell you exactly how Xuan Yuan Sword 7 plays out.

Game Description:

Journey through a fantastical reimagining of ancient China in this 3D action RPG! Xuan Yuan Sword 7 is an action RPG with frenetic real-time combat, visceral 3D presentation and a rich cinematic narrative. It is a celebration of ancient China’s landscape, civilization and culture, infused with the mystique of its own legends in stark contrast to anachronistic technological designs. It is a world that is both familiar and mysterious, one of both science and spirituality, one that is waiting to be explored. Take the role of the calm and reliable swordsman Taishi Zhao as he fights to protect his family and uncover the truth of a blight threatens all of China. With a story deeply rooted in ancient Chinese history and mythology, Xuan Yuan Sword 7 reimagines both as one fantastical and chaotic realm under the governance of a new Xin Dynasty. Near the end of Western Han rule, the powerful prime minister of China superseded his Emperor, promising an era of peace and prosperity. But ten years later, that promise has never been fulfilled. Instead, a decade of war and famine has left China in ruin, and its salvation seems to lie in the hands of a Mohist swordsman who gains control of a fabled artifact called the Elysium Scroll. Can the science-seeking Mohists revive their former glory, or will they fade into the pages of forgotten history?
