Year 2 plans for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands announced by Ubisoft

-

More than 10 million players have taken on the Santa Blanca Cartel in Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ubisoft are gearing up with a huge second year of post-launch support. Today they have dropped all the details.

New free content drops will be found across both the campaign and Ghost War PvP experiences with the first major update – that of Special Operation 1 – arriving on Xbox One, PS4 and PC come April 10th 2018.

From there on out, Year 2 of Wildlands will see Ubisoft continuing to push substantial updates with four major additions bringing a unique theme, updates for the PvE campaign, special free missions and new challenges with exclusive rewards all arriving.

Many of these features have been requested by the community with the following all present and correct in Special Operations 1…

  • Teammate Customisation: The most requested feature by the community, Team Customisation will allow players to customise teammate outfits with all items they have unlocked for their own character
  • PvP Update: A new game mode called “Sabotage” with five exclusive maps, the first of six new PvP classes for Year 2 and new perk and explosive device
  • PvE Update: A free, themed PvE mission and special challenge with exclusive rewards.

You’ll find that Special Operation 1 will include the content planned for Updates 5 & 6 from the original Ghost War roadmap.

In order to see Year 2 kick off with a bang, Ubisoft have also announced that the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands’ Year 2 Pass will bring players seven days worth of early access to the six new Year 2 Ghost War classes, an exclusive customisation pack, and no less than eight Battle Crates (four of both the Special Ops crates and Ghost War crates), to further allow customisation of characters in the main game as well as in the Ghost War.

Year 2 of Wildlands promises to be something a bit special and with the game having seen no less than 13 updates since launch in March of 2017, it only looks to be getting better still. Do you agree? let us know what you think of the military shooter down in the comments below.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
