Ratyrinth is on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch

Hardcore retro puzzle platformer in which you get to play as a little rat? What’s not to like as Ratyrinth launches on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch…

Available right now as the latest weekly offering from the super productive, fruitful Eastasiasoft team is Ratyrinth. It comes to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S (optimised) as the creation of Solluco. You’ll find it on storefronts of PlayStation and Nintendo Switch too.

A ratty adventure

Priced at a mere £4.19 (pretty standard Eastasiasoft pricing), Ratyrinth is a retro-styled platformer in which you take on the role of a little rat. This rodent has one goal, to find his way out of the forest he is in, reuniting with his family on the other side. Of course, that won’t be easy and you’ll need to utilise all your gaming skills to ensure this little guy doesn’t die.

But die he probably will, either at the hands of various foes or the level obstacles and traps in play. Thankfully then, a quick respawn will give the opportunity for you and little Ratty to get back in on the action, continuing the quest.

Precision platforming mechanics are promised in this one, as you jump, cling, swim and climb your way through the stages. With a super simple 2-tone visual style and old-school tuneset accompanying you, Ratyrinth should be able to provide a few evenings of fun.

Key game features

  • Master mazelike platforming stages.
  • Run, jump and climb as a nimble rat with precision controls.
  • Enjoy minimalistic 2-tone pixel art and fluid animation!
  • Respawn instantly and retry as many times as it takes.
  • Unlock color palettes to customize the experience!

We’ll let you know how it goes in full review. But we hope that Ratyrinth is better than Ratyboy Adventures.

Buy now

You can purchase, download and play Ratyrinth right now. If you’re on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, head to the Xbox Store. If you’re on PS4, PS5 or Nintendo Switch, similar digital storefronts will deliver the goods.

Let us know what you think of this little rodenty adventure. The comments are below.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
